Pilates is a system of exercises that can help to improve your strength, flexibility, and posture. The movements are often slow and controlled, and they focus on using the body’s natural movements to achieve results.
Pilates can be done with or without equipment, and we offer a variety of classes to suit your needs. Pilates works by targeting the deep abdominal muscles, which are key to stabilising the spine. Strong core muscles help to protect the spine and prevent injuries. They also improve posture and balance. By strengthening the core muscles, Pilates can help to relieve pain in the lower back and other areas of the body. In addition, Pilates can help to increase flexibility and improve joint mobility.
The hardest part is coordinating breath with movement, once you have accomplished that you’re on your way. At myPilates you will learn all about your core and how it works, how to breathe and move effortlessly and most of all a better understanding and appreciation of your body.
Come on in and try for yourself, we look forward to meeting you.
